A Nomination

I've been nominated for an award. I feel so special. Really, it's just a gadget on the side of my blog, so there are no real benefits to this award except that it's kinda fun. Anyway! Ange over at Rough Drafts has nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award. In order to accept this award one must complete the following requirements.

  • Attach said award to your blog (this took me a painfully long time to figure out, but finally, after 3 different attempts, I figured out how to do it!).
  • Tell folks 10 things about yourself that they may not know. (It's the best I could do; I'm either fairly open or relatively boring because there's not too much that people don't know about me)
  • Nominate 6 other bloggers for the award.
So here goes!
  • I’ve been working on the same quilt for the last 11 years . I started it when I was 17 years old; it was going to be a twin sized quilt for the top bunk where I slept. Within a year, I was engaged to be married, so I adapted the size to make it into a double bed sized quilt. We’re now in a queen sized bed, and at the rate I’m going, I’ll have another 5 years in it before it’s completed.

  • I learned how to play guitar when I was 14 on a guitar that my dad got at a flea market by trading in a set of golf clubs for it. I still play on that same guitar about once or twice a year, though I pretty much stink at it.
  • I tend to hoard things. Food, lotion, Tupperware, books, you name it. At the same time, I HATE clutter. So, I’m pretty much a self contradicting mess that tries to keep my hoarding tendencies to a minimum so it doesn’t overwhelm the organizational neat-freak side of myself.
  • I love to sew and craft, though I rarely take the time to do it.
  • I used to want to be truck driver when I grew up.
  • I can’t stand picky eating habits. And it really offends me when someone doesn’t eat the food I fix just because they have some preconceived notion that they don’t like it (such as not eating my homemade, home canned tomato soup because you don’t like the store bought stuff. There is no comparison!)
  • I also wanted to own a ranch in Kansas when I grew up.
  • I would absolutely love know how to play the banjo, mandolin, and the fiddle. And be really good at guitar.
  • I LOVE thrift stores, yard sales, used book sales, and freecycle. (see #3)
  • I used to be an avid bicyclist and would love to ride again one day.

  • And now to nominate 6 blogs. My first choice would be Amanda over at Another Day in Paradise, but I know she's already been nominated for this award by Ange, so Amanda, go ahead and accept that award, would ya? :) So here are my choices, listed in random order:

    Life as a Schoolhouse

    Memoirs of A Farm Wife

    Teaberries And All Things Nice

    Spirited Rose Farm

    Herb of Grace

    Fairhope Farm

Thanks for the nomination. I hope I haven't bored everyone to death. :P
(P.S. I apologize for the slightly inconsistent formatting on this post. The html has been giving me FITS and I'm tired of trying to fix it. So, when there's supposed to be a space and there's not, and when there's supposed to be a bullet, but there's a number? Just pretend it looks all clean and consistent!)

Thank you so much! I'm flattered. I promise to get on this just as soon as I have a chance. I've officially gone WAY over my allotted internet time for the day. :)
