Happy 8 Months!

Elizabeth Rose is 8 months old! It's hard to believe how fast time flies. Just two days shy of Elizabeth's 7th month birthday, I started feeding her solid foods. She eats mostly fresh vegetables from the garden or seasonal produce that's available locally, plus cheerios of course. She loves to eat. Her favorite food is anything that's NOT from a store bought jar!

Elizabeth has been sitting alone and scooting around on her belly for about a month now and can move around very quickly actually! However, in the past week or so, she's been getting up on her knees and rocking a lot. She has even ventured to crawl forward a time or two, but forgets what she's doing and falls on her face! Just today she went from a crawling position to ALMOST a sitting up position, but then she fell down onto her belly.

Elizabeth loves playing with her siblings, jumping in her johnny-jump-up, and seeing her daddy! I just love how her face lights up and she reaches for him when he gets home from work or walks into a room. She LOVES water of any kind! She really enjoys taking baths and loves splashing in the swimming pool and mountain creeks.

So far, Elizabeth has been the most inconsistent napper of all of the kids, which sort of surprises me. We're home more for regular naps than with the others, she just hasn't fallen into a great schedule and stayed there! She almost always takes a morning nap which lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on who wakes her up! Afternoon naps don't happen on a daily basis however. She sleeps excellent at night though, so I can't complain. She usually goes to bed around 9:30-10:00 pm and sleeps through until 7 a.m.

One night a few weeks ago, Elizabeth was playing on the floor with Aaron, and she just wore herself slap out. Aaron fell asleep right after she did.

Elizabeth has spent a lot of time snapping beans (or watching them being snapped) this summer. It was amazing how long she stayed occupied playing with a bean.

Sometimes, she would sit for an hour just playing with or chewing on a few beans!!
