Also, I made bread & butter pickles, chunky mustard pickles, tons of golden relish (YUMMY on a hotdog!), British bread & butter pickles, and sweet pickles. All in all, not including what didn’t seal or what jars broke (I hate it when that happens! ), I have 6 half gallons, 20 quarts, and 56 pints of some form of pickle or relish! The cucumber rush ended in mid August, which I was rather relieved about! I was so over cucumbers and had even given away more than 40 pounds of cucumbers in addition to what we ate at mealtimes!
I started blogging in April 2008 and really enjoy it! Being an extremely busy wife and mother of four, I don't get much time to write. But please do not let that keep you from coming back often as I like having you read what I write! Feel free to comment and let me know you stopped by, and enjoy reading!

Pickles
(I started this post nearly 4 months ago....then I started slipping out of the blogosphere. Old news though it is.....here ya go.)
This year was the Year of the Cucumber. The cucumbers started maturing in early July. By mid July, I was picking them every day or I would have giant cucumbers hiding beneath the leaves. Each day I picked nearly 10 pounds of cucumbers, sometimes more! I never really realized just how much Aaron loved dill pickles until recent years, so I made plenty of dill pickles…in whole, spear, and slice form.

Dang, girl, now I want a pickle...
Looks like you're in a pickle, but in this case, it's a good thing.
