Groundhog Mountain

The other night, we took the kids to Groundhog Mtn. just before dark to play on their bikes for a few minutes. I was playing around with the camera trying get some "night scene" pictures that weren't fuzzy. There was no spectacular sunset, but it was still gorgeous none the less. I am so thankful to live where we live in this little corner of southwest Va. I'd be content to stay in this little 1200 sq ft brick house for the rest of my life because I have all I need right here.

I remember when "I" couldn't see out of the tower without jumping up like this! We used to walk with our dogs to Groundhog Mtn. all the time growing up, because we lived just a mile away from it.

This is the moon rising over the horizon. It's actually a lot darker in real life than this picture indicates, but the shutter was open for a long time (no, i don't know the correct "photography" term for that) making it seem a lot lighter than it really was. I know the tower is fuzzy, but the grass is in focus! :)
