The Week in a Nutshell

My biggest and my littlest!!! How much cuter can you get??

It's pretty much an every morning tradition for Savannah to read to Alan before breakfast; this morning, Katie Mae got to be included. She's about 7 or 8 days old here.

Alan is all smiles!!!

Katie Mae sleeping on my bed today. Yes, she's on the bare mattress cause she wet all over my bed this morning.

This was taken today; Katie is 13 days old. Savannah sure does love her little sister!

This is the first time she actually wore something other than a sleeper or gown. She is 11 days old here.

I made this wrap and this is the first time I used it. I love it, but I'm not sure if Katie Mae does. She sleeps well in it, but when she wakes up, she screams!

Here it is a whole week since I posted last and this is the very first opportunity to do so! I feel like I have accomplished alot if I go to bed with a clean kitchen and a semi-clean living room! And the laundry, my goodness, I think it has increased two fold and it's just one little girl!!! I must say also that the kids have been out alot in the past week while Aaron has been home working on the tree farm (more on that later) so they have all been FILTHY. I'm doing 2 loads of laundry a day it seems! Katie seems to enjoy wetting while her diaper is being changed, so I get to wash lots of extra little outfits and changing pads and sheets on my bed! I love, love, LOVE having Katie Mae around, but she sure does take up alot of time. : )

My sister, Lynn came to visit this weekend. She arrived Friday night and stayed until Sunday evening, so we had a good time relaxing over the weekend. Saturday morning, my father-in-law, Scot, showed up at our house at 7:10 am and fixed breakfast for us. Then he took the Savannah and Alan away for the weekend back to Summerfield to go to the Founder's Day Parade and all the festivities that Summerfield was having that day. They all came back with Nathan, Rachel, and family Sunday afternoon. Nathan and Zachary washed all the windows in the living room and eating area for my birthday present and we had a cook out and birthday celebration for Nathan and me. Nathan's birthday is on Thursday the 22nd and mine is on the 23rd, so we usually celebrate it together. It was great food (thanks Browns!) and we had a good afternoon.

Saturday, while the kids were out of town, Aaron and I went out to dinner with Katie Mae. She did so well (slept the whole time!), then we went to Walmart and got her and me a few new clothes. Neither one of us have much to wear, particularly me! I have very few clothes that fit me these days. I don't feel like I can even leave the house with the clothes I have to wear. As Aaron told me yesterday, I look like a boy. : )

It's been a good week, just super busy. We went to home school group on Thursday and Savannah and Alan painted gourds. They loved that. Other than that, we've spent the week trying to get adjusted to being a family of five. What an undertaking, but she's worth every minute of it!!!!

I love those pictures. It sounds like life with 3 kiddos is pretty busy! I know what you mean about laundry...I think if I jumped into my laundry pile I would probably disappear!
